The iPhone is an impressive tool with hundreds of brilliant features, but there is a myriad of hidden features and tricks that you may not have realised existed - until now. Here, we've picked our favourite iPhone tips and tricks that can help you achieve things quicker and easier, and you'll wish you'd known about them a long time ago.

1Improving Wi-Fi speed on an iPhone

the Wi-Fi Assist function you can easily set up your phone to automatically switch over to the cellular connection when the Wi-Fi network signal is poor.

2Restarting your iPhone

Give your iPhone a little rest when your phone hangs, gets frozen, and refuses to work. To do this, press and hold down the On/Off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen turns off (it can take up to 10 seconds). Once you’re done, your iPhone will reboot and you’ll see the Apple logo. don't do it often.

3Setting the sleep timer

Now you can fall asleep listening to your favorite songs or a podcast without worrying that the music will play all night, making your sleep weird. Simply open the Clock app and set the timer for how long you want the music to play. Then, tap the button labeled When Timer Ends and, instead of selecting ringtones that can be played, scroll to the bottom to choosethe Stop Playing option. Simple!

4Clearing your iPhone’s RAM

The good news is that we have a fancy little trick for you, that instantly clears up your iPhone’s RAM. This means that, when applied, all apps running in the background will be force closed. So, when you wish free up your iOS device’s RAM perform this simple trick:
Step 1: From any screen, press & hold the Sleep/Wake button, until the iPhone’s Shutdown screen comes up. (I’m talking about the Power button available at the top of your device, if you’re owning an iPhone 5S or earlier version. The iPhone 6 and later versions have this button re-positioned on the right side).
Step 2: Now, press & hold the Home Button until the iOS home screen is displayed. This signals that the Random Access Memory flush has been completed!

5Recording a video while the screen is locked

Step 1: Make sure your iPhone is locked. Press the Shutter button, slide the bottom right camera icon halfway up and don’t let go.
Step 2: Keeping your finger on the camera slider mode still halfway up, slide the camera mode to video.
Step 3: Double press the Home button three times.
Step 4: Keep your finger still halfway on the slider until the iPhone turns off its screen. Remember: your iPhone is already recording a video.
Step 5: If you want to end the recording, simply unlock the iPhone as usual.

6iMessage timestamps

When you open a text conversation, simply swipe to the left. That’s right. All you have to do is touch the screen and drag your finger from right to left. When you do, you will see a time stamp for every single message sent and received on the right side of the screen. Hold your finger on the screen to keep reading. Let go when you are done.

7Rewinding audio and video tracks

You can make the audio/video scrubbing speed faster or slower by simply moving the slider. The yellow area is used for fast scrubbing. If you move your finger to the red area, you’ll get to ’half-speed scrubbing,’ and the green area is even slower.

8Blocking ads in iPhone/iPad games,

In Settings, go to General > About, then scroll down to Advertising. There, you'll see a switch labeled Limit Ad Tracking. Turn that switch to ON.

9Changing the direction of Panorama mode

Change the direction of Panorama mode before shooting in iOS by simply tapping the arrow on the screen

10Deleting digit(s) in the Calculator app

Drag the number field to the right or to the left and enter your new digit. This will delete the last digit you have entered and let you edit your number just like a back button does.

At the very least, you should fill out the information regarding your blood type as well as indicate the medicines you are allergic to.

Tap and hold the “+” button at the bottom of the tab view and you’ll be taken to the Recently Closed Tabs screen.

13Reducing your iPhone’s brightness below minimum

On your iOS device, go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Zoom and make sure that "Show Controller" is enabled. Now go back to the Accessibility settings page, scroll all the way down to "Accessibility Shortcut" and select "Zoom." This will create a shortcut for you to dim the brightness by triple-clicking the Home button. Triple-click the home button and a small dark grey and white circle icon will pop up; this is the zoom controller. Tap on the zoom controller, select "Choose Filter" from the menu and select "Low Light." If you triple-click your home button to get out of Zoom mode, the low light feature will disappear, so stay in the feature to keep your display dimmed.

14Using Google Maps offline

Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) at the top of the screen and select “Download offline area” from the popup menu. On using an iOS device, select the “Save offline map” option.
