Barrie and Tony Drewitt-Barlow were the first gay men to father children through surrogacy, and as well as the twins now have another son named Orlando, who is now 13, and two other twin boys Jasper and Dallas who are six.
Barrie is the biological father of one twin and Tony the father of the other, but they have never revealed which dad is which, considering themselves to be equal parents.
Saffron is the only daughter of Barrie, who she calls 'Daddy', and Tony Drewitt-Barlow, who is known as 'Dad'.
For their 18th birthday, the oldest twins were both gifted matching Range Rovers, in white for Saffron and black for Aspen. And she says that her monthly pocket money is £ 5,000, a small amount if you think her parents’ fortune is over £ 40 million as the couple has set up a a company where medical investigations are being carried out.
Their parents flew the twins and a group of their American friends to England so that they could all drink champagne — something they couldn't do in Florida, where the legal drinking age is 21.
I know I am incredibly lucky. Dad and Daddy love the finer things in life, and that’s something they have passed on to me." — Saffron told
They grew up on Manchester council estates, but now have a combined wealth of £40 million and spread their time between a £5 million water-front Florida property and a sprawling Essex mansion.
We are incredibly proud of all our children," — Barrie told.
But we've told them we intend to leave a lot of our millions to charity as we want our children to get jobs and make their own way in life, just as we did."
