How do you Define India? Yes,India is a developing nation, a culturally diverse country with thousands of languages, different customs and believes, world's largest democracy and lot more.

Yes, Mangalyaan is an Indian spacecraft which is orbiting Mars. India has powerful navy, air-force and standing army. The Information Technology revolution will completely change the life of Indians. It will create a lot more employment opportunities.

But it is said that for every step India took forward, it took two steps back. That indeed seemed to be the case for decades after Independence. The developing India which we see on internet media etc.. is just the Tiny part of India...

What is the actual condition of this country today? Is india good as a Democratic country?

There are many things which are funny in India. Much of these are true and Indians have learnt to live with these. Some of them are listed here. Some remarks reek of a pathetic mindset, others are plain stupid.

A Cow Ministry

indialivetoday.com

Protection of cow, regarded by Hindus as a holy animal, has become a political issue in the country. We know that. but now they are back on the news with a ridiculous plan on Cow Ministry. seriously? An entire department and a minister just for the welfare and protection of cow? All we can say is Holy COW!!!

The cows themselves have little to gain from the politics in their name.

| The great verdict by Mulayam Singh Yadav , Member of Parliament: "The poor fellows, three of them have been sentenced to death. Should rape cases lead to hanging? Boys are boys, they make mistakes. Two or three have been given the death sentence in Mumbai. We will try and change such laws...we will also ensure punishment of those who report false cases."

In Rajasthan, the history textbooks have been rewritten. There was silence on Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination by Nathuram Godse, and works of John Keats, William Blake and TS Eliot were out of English textbooks. Jawaharlal Nehru was erased and a chapter on Emergency, a dark period in Indian democracy in 1975, added.
