5 things You should know about Disney's Beauty and the Beast

As we get nearer to the release date more and more information has been leaked and released, so here are 5 things that you probably may not know about the franchise.

The film’s impressive cast consists of Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast/Prince, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as Le Fou, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Audra McDonald as Garderobe, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, and Stanley Tucci as the new character Cadenza.


Emma Watson turned down the role of Cinderella for the Belle

Apparently Watson had previously been offered the role of Cinderella in Kenneth Branagh’s 2015 remake but turned it down as the character wasn’t the role model she wanted to portray. She was more interested to play Belle of Beauty and the Beast.


Its the 5th live action movie from disney

The first being Alice in Wonderland , Beauty and the Beast is the 5th Live action movie after Maleficient, Cindrella and Jungle Book. While the 1991 movie was the 30th Disney animated feature film and the third in the Disney Renaissance period


Belle is the Eldest

Belle is considered to be the first disney princess and she is potrayed as a a maiden in her early 20's.


The Film is also a musical just like it's Counterpart

Unlike Maleficent and Cinderella before it, the film will follow in the footsteps of its animated counterpart by being a musical.


In the 1991 animated original, Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson performed the duet.

Move over, Celine Dion. singers Ariana Grande and John Legend will record a new version of the song "Beauty and the Beast" for the upcoming live-action film. Bring on the Grammy's. here is the Dion version. Emma Watson, who plays Belle in the new Beauty and the Beast, also sings.

The film will be released in theaters on March 17, 2017.
